Last night, we experienced an unexpected IT disruption due to a global issue related to CrowdStrike software. Here are the key points you need to know:

Impact on Our School:
Currently, all internal systems are working due to the hard work of our team, however outside services on the Internet may be down that you attempt to use. If you encounter any lingering issues, please report them promptly to our IT support team at 814-231-7743 or by email at itsupport@scasd.org.

What Happened?
A recent update from CrowdStrike caused widespread outages across various systems worldwide. Airport check-in systems, banks, supermarkets, and media companies were affected.

Cause and Resolution:
CrowdStrike’s CEO confirmed that the problem stemmed from a defect in a recent Windows update. Fortunately, the issue has been identified, and isolated, and a fix has been deployed.
